Performance (A Poem)

Flashing glittery stage full of light,
anticipation, spectators’ expectant delight.
Music now flowing, perfection now showing.
Or speaking a word, articulately going.

Perfection and excellence in clear view,
all while sitting idle in my pew.
No threat of sacrificial need.
No way to express my call or deed.

Comfortably hidden in the front,
or just as so in the back.
Flesh unchallenged, His Face long since gone.
My thirst bone dry, in such lack.

“We do everything with excellence”, I hear them say.
When it’s over, pat their backs and just walk away.
Walk away from the call that’s so dear,
“I wanted to love My Bride in there!”

Locked out of His own church from His deeper touch,
by people unwilling to die to what they hold fast.
Or unwilling due to fear of the unseen,
or might it be loves lost, long since past?

People starving at the expense of man’s pride.
Walking wounded, a leprous divide.
Few salvations, little change, nor evidence inside.
But then comes one with guts to turn the tide!

“I’m not sticking to the old dead ways.
See, I’ve had this vision of a River, coming neigh!
Flowing mighty from the throne of God!
Now I see, now I know, it’s time to die!

A lover that’s come to a personal end,
stands up to say, “I’m going to relinquish command.
Suddenly I see, it’s been all about me,
I repent, Oh Lord, so the blind can now see.”

The threshing floor is ready.
His knife in His hand.
He beckons us in.
He calls us to stand.

On the south side of change, it’s so hard to make.
But on the north side, when done, “that wasn’t so hard to take”.
Then suddenly is realized what we have missed.
We grieve then rejoice in this newfound fullness.

Filtering rooftops coming off the churches of this nation,
leadership has given up the reigns!
Now they’re connected to the Cornerstone foundation,
the Spirit released to bring rains.

Praise once horizontal,
suddenly shifted,
becomes worship now vertical,
intimately lifted!

Love now revealing.
People enter healing.
Power’s releasing.
Miracles unceasing.

Untimely devotion this self-death notion.
But is there ever a good time to die?
But do it we must and now is the time,
if His Eagle is ever to fly.

What once was the norm has now been discarded,
The offendable long since gone.
And performance along with it, sent out with the trash,
Father’s Church has now moved on.

Reformation of Balance

I have heard many people speak on the idea that God is changing the Church out of the old into the new. Many people call it “Reformation.”

However, I would be careful to try to define what is happening to the Church with a coined phrase. Reformation? Reformation, from what? Reformation, into what? For, how quickly it shall be that Reformation will become simply another denomination of Christianity, simply another religion based only upon the past.

What God is bringing into the Church today are His blessings, His unlimited blessings! His blessings are new every morning. His grace is new every day. His mercy is fresh every morning. And these are just the beginnings of the glory of God manifesting on earth as it is in heaven in this hour!

Does anyone really believe that God stopped doing new things at the point at which the Bible was complete 2000 years ago? REALLY???

But if we are to believe many of today’s theologians that say that there is no longer the earthly manifestation of the Holy Spirit, who say that the manifestation of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost was only for the purpose of establishing the Church and the writing to the Bible, who say that there is no longer any manifestation of the Holy Spirit in this way… then one can only agree that’s all we have left on earth is the ancient past events of the Bible.

If there is nothing left on earth of God but the Bible, then the Bible discredits itself by saying that God always does a new thing. For, if this were so, then the last time that God moved on earth in power would have been 2000 years ago! Such an argument fits perfectly into powerless man-made religious thinking.

God is always doing a new thing, and it is always supernaturally manifested. We just need eyes to see it. We are always coming out of something into something new. We are coming out of the law, out of titles and out of structure into something wonderfully new. And for all of these new things to be understood, requires the current and fresh revelation given by the Holy Spirit.

Anytime that we start to copy what we did in the past, this is the beginning of the end of revival, and it is the beginning of dead and lifeless religion.

Scriptures must never be denied. Absolutes must not change. But the old things are going away. The word of God speaks much about this truth. But, the word of God always points us forward. The word of God directs us to gain an understanding of those who have gone before us so that we can succeed in all that God has set before us! This is what the word of God has to say:

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Rev 21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

Psalm 98:1 Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things…

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

And there are no better words to describe this issue any better than in the book of Matthew:

Mathew 13:52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe (teacher/preacher/wise man/leader) instructed concerning the Kingdom of Heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

The religious church thinks only to bring out of its storehouse that which is old. Likewise, we find many involved in this new wave of the Holy Spirit who are focusing only on bringing out the new. But the point of truth in this matter is this: We bring out both the revealed Word of God, and the revelation power of the Holy Spirit, so that both the old and the new would be given place to manifest God’s pure truth into the world. This is God’s heart for his Church today, the Word and the Spirit! If either is missing, false religion abounds!

On the day of Pentecost, the power fell upon men women and children in the Upper Room. Immediately following, the apostle Peter went out and addressed the crowd with the Word of God! On the day of Pentecost, the apostle Peter and the recipients of the outpouring testified to this all important truth, that it is the Word, hand in hand with the power, that bring to pass the miraculous manifestations of God. It was the Word spoken of old which Peter outlined, plus the manifestation of Holy Spirit’s power releasing the new thing that resulted in a supernatural success.

We’ve got Word churches and power churches, but God wants Word PLUS power churches. The Word is wonderful, and the manifesting miracles of the Holy Spirit are wonderful. But how much more will it be when the Church manifests the Word of God coupled with the power of God into today’s world. This is how it shall be that 3000 souls shall be saved in one day and more!

This is the revival that continues. It shall happen in the Church that operates both in the Word of God and the power of God.

True revival brings constant fresh oil to those who need it. It is a place where people who come back again and again to receive fresh new oil again and again! It is a place where the seekers will receive something new every time. It is a place where people receive a revelation of the Father heart of God. Because it is true that no one that does not have the heart of the Father should be trusted with the power of God. The point of truth on this matter is revealed only to the humble of heart. Read all of Psalm 91. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty…” This is a position of humility and it is absolutely necessary in order to gain God’s point of truth on any matter.

We must understand that all of God’s power is available to all Christians at all times. This is what omnipotence means! It means all-powerful at all the time! God’s power is infinite and it is available upon his release.

God is simply waiting on his church to grow up, to die to self, to give up the reins of control and to allow God to lead. So long as men must maintain control of the Church, God simply will not manifest his power within. God will never share his glory with another!

God is calling his Church into a revival mentality that includes the Word of God and the power of God, in order to reveal the Father Heart of God into this dying world. Ultimately revival is this, the manifest revelation of the Father Heart of God to such a point that one cannot help BUT be FOREVER changed! The world needs their Heavenly Father! The world needs revival! The world needs the Church walking in the Word and the power of God!

And so, as we consider the manifestation of Reformation in today’s church, let us forever remember the necessity to cling tightly to the written revealed Word of God and to seek the manifesting Presence of the Holy Spirit in every one of our meetings that we might move forward in the new revealed things of God for our todays and our tomorrows!

Praise to Worship

Praise to Worship

Scripture defines a sacrifice of praise. It does not call worship a sacrifice!

Praise is an ascension that requires a sacrifice of whatever has gotten in the way so that we can enter into the place of intimate worship.

In praise, by our declarations of His Majesty, we push everything of our flesh aside in order to enter into that intimate place of worship. When we move into that place of intimacy of worship everything becomes easy. And then… the Presence falls!

The reason that some people are able to enter into the Presence quicker than others is because they know how to push past the stuff of life, pushing all hindrances aside and press right in!

God already well those who he is. The declaration of who God is, that is praise. And while it is good and a wonderful thing to openly declare who God is in praise, far better it is that we enter in past that place into the very Presence of God and encounter Him face-to-Face!

So many churches in the world are good at the works of praise. But few truly understand the extreme necessity to go beyond praise and to “enter in” to a state of intimacy in the very Presence of the Father through worship. Because, praise is a declaration thing… but worship is a love thing!

May you press in today to seek and find His adoring eyes of love that burn for you!

Hanging at the End of Your Rope?

Hanging at the End of Your Rope

Vision of the End of the Rope

I have seen many times a picture in my mind: a person suspended and hanging, holding on with one hand at the very end of a rope. Sometimes a man, sometimes a woman… These people are dangling there holding on for dear life to the very last strands of a rope. There appears to be darkness below. It seems that if the person let’s go, he/she will fall into the abyss. This is what is on the mind of the person hanging onto the rope. But what he/she cannot see is the existence of the hand of God resting below! It is invisible to the person holding on to the rope.

So they’re they are, men and women… hanging onto the last strands of the end of their rope. I can see, they are holding on for dear life, utilizing all the earthly effort they have to hold on! In their mind, they think that if they let go, they will surely die.

Who are these persons at the end of their rope? They are the church. They represent most of Christianity.

And what does this rope represent? The rope represents our yesterdays. The rope represents our life issues. The rope represents our hurts. The rope represents unforgiveness. The rope represents our un-dealt with issues. The rope represents our past wounds. It represents our old ways. It represents religion. It represents false beliefs! The rope represents the ways and effects of this fallen world!

But there is a hand waiting to catch us, we who are dangling at the end of our ropes. And the distance between the end of our rope and God’s hand that is just waiting to catch us, is faith.

The hand of God waiting to catch us is invisible because it requires our faith to let go. Therefore in faith, we must let go of our yesterdays, our old stuff, our anger, our issues, our wounds, our old ways and our false religious beliefs.

It truly is a leap of faith, or shall I say, a letting go by faith. And oh the liberty, the washing, the cleansing and the joy when we let go. And then all the anxiety of the ages just falls away as we fall softly into the hands of the Lord!

There, as you rest in the hand of the Father in your new-found peace, resides all the good gifts that Father God has for you… healing, deliverance, revelation and understanding, joy, peace and restoration! It’s all there! You cannot see it now. But it’s all there for you. You simply need to… let go! It’s a leap of love!

Stepping into the Kingdom mentality of the supernatural of God, which results in healing, deliverance and freedom from religion and dead works, requires our first action of letting go. God requires of us a first action in all things! But the first action is oh so simple. Our first action is simply to loose our grip upon our reigns of control and to let go of the rope!

What are you holding on to? Aren’t you tired of holding on so tightly? Isn’t it time to give God full control of your life?

Therefore, you must do the first action. Let’s go! Take the plunge! Fall in love!

I assure you, Father’s hand is waiting just below you! Fall into him! It will be the very best life choice you will have ever made in life, short of accepting Christ into your heart! He is waiting for you!

Vision: Our Love Gift, Our Life Gift

Our Love Gift, Our Life Gift

I saw a vision of the Saints standing before the Father and holding out their hands. And in their hands was what looked like blood. In their hands was the total of their life sacrifices. And the Father was receiving their gifts with joy in His eyes and deep love in His heart. Father was overjoyed to receive the sacrifices of the Saints.

Jesus entire life walk on this earth was an example for us to follow. Everything that He did was as an example for us to follow. We are to copy Him, to be like Him, to do like Him, to live like Him and to die like Him.

Jesus’ ultimate act was the sacrifice of His own life. How much more then should we also sacrifice our whole life for the purpose of the Kingdom of God? Just as Jesus was our example, so then we are to follow in His footsteps up to and including our own death and our own life sacrifice on behalf of the Kingdom.

All that Jesus did on earth is well documented in the four Gospels. And we have good words that show us how to be Christlike. We have a clear understanding all the way to the point of the cross.

But then Jesus did even more than that! On the day he was taken up to return back to Heaven, Jesus carried with Him the overall result of His actions. Jesus carried to the Father His blood sacrifice. He carried in His hands His own blood and then presented it before the Father as the perfect and most pleasing sacrifice once for all time for all mankind. All that Jesus did on earth lead up to this last final act. It was required before the Holy Spirit could be poured out. It was why Jesus told the Apostles to wait for the Holy Spirit! The offering must first be laid before the Father!

When Jesus returned to the Father, His work of establishing and then providing salvation grace was complete. But it was not complete until He presented before the Father His own shed blood. It was Jesus single most wonderful and very greatest gift of all. His own shed blood… His life sacrifice. It was the reason why He came. It was the reason why He lived. He lived to die so that He could bring this blood sacrifice to the Father. All of His life on earth lead up to this one moment in time in which Jesus could present the blood Father in order to see mankind set free.

Here on earth are we… saints… sons and daughters of the Most High God. Upon our confession and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior, we were saved. But Jesus died for more than just this. He died so that we could have fullness in this life; so that we would be equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit to do great and mighty things… so that we would be equipped to walk just as Jesus walked and so that we could reap a harvest!

Our greatest gift, our greatest joy will not happen until the day we return to Heaven to be with the Father. On that day, just as it was on the day that Jesus return to the Father, just as it was when Jesus presented His life sacrifice before the Father, so then shall we also present our life sacrifices before the Father. Jesus’ sacrifice was the greatest of all, His very own blood, His very own life. What then shall we have in hand when we go to the Father? In what ways did we sacrifice ourselves on earth for His behalf?

Vision: Saints and the Blood Gift

I saw a vision of the Saints standing before the Father and holding out their hands. And in their hands was what looked like blood. In their hands was the total of their life sacrifices. And the Father was receiving their gifts with joy in His eyes and deep love in His heart. Father was overjoyed to receive the sacrifices of the Saints.

This is our goal in life. Our goal in life is not to just get along and survive until the day that we go home to be in Heaven with Father. Our goal in this earthly life is to so completely die to ourselves, and to sacrifice ourselves for the lost. And with every sacrifice we make there accumulates in our hands a blood offering that we shall one day present before the Father. This is what we are living for; that we might have a gift to give to our Father, and a reward to give to our King of Kings for his suffering.

Time now to wait on the Holy Spirit, receive His love and revelations, choose confession repentance and forgiveness, be healed up and delivered of all that besets us and then go forth in sacrificial love and give. Time for us to take on the very nature of Christ, and to willfully sacrifice. The Harvest is ripe in all the world!

Renewal and Soaking

Truth by Receiving

Lies seem to get in more easily than the truth does. But the Holy Spirit is the Counselor who leads us into all truth. He establishes all truth. We guard our hearts by the truth of the Spirit. The word requires the Spirit to understand it!

Truth has to get inside of us. This is why Jesus taught us how to pray, “Our Father who is in heaven, Holy is Your Name. Your Kingdom come and will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” When the Holy Spirit comes in power into our meetings, the Kingdom of God has just manifested on earth as it is in heaven! God very literally is asking us to FIRST ask Him for the Presence to come! Then comes revelation!

Then comes the second request, “Give us this day our daily bread.” And what is our daily bread, but the manifesting Presence of God in our meetings, that we might eat of Him and drink of Him and receive from Him! Then truth comes our way in power! That happens through the eating of Him and the drinking of Him. And by this supernatural way I am fully released, healed up and ready to overflow.

Truth is spiritual not mental. The harder I try the worse it gets. That’s called striving. It’s not about head knowledge, it’s about heart knowledge.

Don’t ever stop receiving. Don’t let anyone detract you from that. Finding the truth requires a constant searching. Do not rush to catch Him, but wait on Him to approach you. That is soaking. That is waiting. That is seeking. That is not striving.

Waiting on the Holy Spirit for revelation is like casting your fishnet where the fish are. But, trying to figure it out is like throwing your fishnet where the fish are not! Like a fisherman in the boat with Jesus, so it is with us. We have to wait until Jesus tells us where to cast our net. But, after he has told us where to cast our net, we get more fish than we could have ever held. That is renewal! Renewal is waiting on God, then with Jesus in hand, going out and fishing. We are then directed by Jesus, through the Holy Spirit where to cast our spiritual nets! We then can reap a harvest greater than we could ever have imagined.

We have to get rid of our ungodly beliefs. We have to let God placed truth in our hearts. That is what renewal is all about. Constantly being in-filled with the truth, then giving it away.

God Is Our Comforter

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. 2 Thes 2:16-17

In the world we look for comfort in all the wrong places. But God gives comfort in the midst of tribulation, so as to be a comfort to others. But we have to drink before we gain our comfort. We have to drink before we give comfort! We have to continuously drink and receive from the Lord. It is not selfish nor inward focused, it is vital!

Soaking or waiting on the Holy Spirit is all about receiving Him. As we are soaking, we are drinking. We are drinking Him in. We are receiving the Holy Spirit. We are receiving what Jesus Christ died on the cross to give us. We are connecting with God. The results of drinking him in, is the gaining of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and anointing. We are filled up! We are filled up to overflowing! What happens next? Rivers of living water will flow from our belly!

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37-38

What is it to come to him and drink? And what is it that we actually do drink? He gives us fresh waters… He gives us New Wine. He gives us his blood. By the fresh waters we are renewed and revived! By the New Wine we are filled with joy, and we are equipped with every good tool to get the job done. In the drinking of his blood, we are washed thoroughly clean through confession and repentance! These things we gain as we wait upon him, as we soak in his Presence.

Soaking Is All About the Heart

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23

As we soak in the Presence, He heals our hearts. He shows us his heart. We come together heart to heart. And so we come into the Presence and we soak, so that our hearts might be healed, so that lies might be exposed and so that we may walk in the truth; supernatural truth, not in the truths of this world.

Soaking is all about love. Soaking is all about intimacy. Soaking is all about relationship. Soaking brings me close to my Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And when I do, my heart is strengthened. My call is made known. My resolve becomes clear. And then I am given an ability to do things that I could not possibly do of my own strength.

God bids that we come to him like a child. And one of the greatest understandings is that we must come to him like little children. We must be like children in our receiving. Little children never question when it is time to have fun!

“I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children…” Luke 10:21

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Ma 19:14

We are His children, in as much as the actual child is offered to come in. Like the unquestioning child, we must naturally trust, and then come in!

No Respecter of Persons

God is not a respecter of persons. No one is disqualified from soaking in the Presence of God. Got has not chosen anyone above any other. God chose to “choose before the foundation of the world”. And this is His promise, that all who desire to come may enter in. We are all in the process of sanctification. We all need to soak in the Presence of God. We all need what He has to give us from His throne room!

For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Hebrews 10:14

How are we perfected in this process of sanctification? While there’re many ways that God does this, there is no better way and to soak in His Presence.

We need to know that God has already done everything, He has already set everything in place. Jesus work is finished. Our paths have already been set, even before the foundation of the world. We need to choose to continually walk in the path that he has already set before us. Sanctification is a process, but our paths have already been set. In both of these things, we need the Holy Spirit’s understanding. And this is an on going way of life.

Therefore we must understand that it is critical for us to go in to the Presence of God again and again and again. As we do, we move from glory to glory, from faith to faith and from revelation to revelation. Our pathway is re-illuminated in the Presence of God as we soak, as we seek His Face.

There will be every demonic plan to either prevent you from going into the presents or to stop you from going into the presence again and again. This must be clearly understood. We must overcome the lies in the mind. They come either from our pride and our flesh, or worse, directly from Satan. We must know that the enemy will level every plan of attack to stop the Holy Spirit from manifesting in times of intimacy within the church and within our meetings. Satan cannot stand the manifesting presence of the Holy Spirit. Because when one becomes filled with the Holy Spirit, that person becomes a threat to the devil. So we must understand the strategies of the enemy and choose as an act of our will to soak anyway!

Psalms 23 is perhaps the greatest psalm of them all. “He prepares for me a table in the midst of my enemies.” We need to understand that as we move in the Presence of God, as we wait and seek His Face, and as we give away what we have been given, all these things will happen in the presence of our enemies. God prepares a table for us in the midst of our enemies. Therefore we eat in the presence of our enemies. Who cares if Satan stands right next to us. We know he’s there. And so, even in the presence of our enemies, we soak, we love, we give. We know he’s there, but we choose not to let him have an influence against us. This is a critical understanding.

As we soak in the Presence of God, one of the wonderful things that happen is that God reveals the condition of our hearts. But God does not violate our free will. And so when renewal happens, it does not magically remove sin from us. We must choose this.

I have seen many times in renewals that I have witnessed, people greatly touched in the Presence of God. I have seen how the presence of God stirs the hearts of people toward great repentance. Tears of sadness, of godly sorrow streaming down people’s faces under the weight of conviction! What a glorious site this is to witness. And I have felt this upon my own soul time and again. Yet even so, God never violates the free will of mankind.

When the Holy Spirit comes in renewal, we are convicted of our sinful state. But then we must respond, we must make a choice. We must confess. We must repent. Then Jesus acts as our Advocate before the Father! The courtrooms of heaven open up. Jesus pleads before the Father our case. And we are guilty… until Jesus presents his blood. “Not guilty”, the father says! Oh what joy! God’s word is proven true. Jesus has just set us free from our sin guilt! First John chapter 1 comes to life!

All of these things happen in renewal. The light of Jesus is shed upon the darkness of our souls, and we can do nothing but confront this darkness. We cannot turn to the left, we cannot turn to the right. We must now confront it, or run out the door! We are left to make a choice to appropriate the shed blood of Jesus, to receive his propitiation. Or, to walk away in a state of worldly sorrow and miss the greatest opportunity for eternal life we can ever be given.

This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John1:5-10

But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1-2

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal… 2 Corinthians 7:10-11

Salvation without regret is one of the very great hallmarks of true revival and renewal! People go in one way, and come out without regret. For they have left their sins at the feet of Jesus, have been washed from head to tow in the blood, and are now standing with no regrets!

As we soak in the Presence of God, our hearts connect to his. In these times of intimacy, our lover begins to express his deepest secrets. So it is with all intimate relationships. Only through intimacy do we learn the heart of our lover! So it most certainly is with God! God loves us intimacy! He loves it! He responds to it! And God knows everything. He knows all of our failings. He knows everything we’ve ever gone through. His heart breaks when our hearts break, and rejoices when we rejoice. And like the very beautiful merciful and graceful Father that He is, He wants us to enter into fullness; first for our salvation, and then for our success in this world. And what is success in this world, but dying to self.

And so as we soak in the Presence of God, He begins to reveal His heart to us. And because He already knows everything about us, He begins to reveal to us about our own hearts. He begins to show us just how much we are in need of His saving grace. He breaks through the walls of our pride in times of His Manifesting Presence. He shows us the error of our ways. And then we are given an opportunity, a very great opportunity. We can neither turn to the left nor to the right. Under the weight of his deep deep love for us, we become convicted. We are made witness to our miserable condition. We are shown our sins. Father then shows us His heart in the matter. Jesus displays His powerful blood, and His broken Body! We are then left with the choice! But God will not force us to confess. He will not force us to repent. He gives us the choice. And this is my point.

As we soak in the Presence of God, we are given one of the greatest gifts of all. We are given the opportunity to come clean. We then are given the choice to do so or to not. And so I have seen many people in renewals come in one way and go out washed completely clean. And I have also seen many people and renewals go in one way and go out the same way. And that is very sad. God never violates our free will. He loves us so much that he wants us to know, to be humbled, to be revealed to our needful condition, to be confess and repentant, and to be changed.

And so the very greatest manifestation of renewal is this, that peoples sins are always dealt with. Every great revival or renewal that has ever happened in world history since Pentecost has always included repentance. Repentance that leads to salvation. The church must understand all who declare the name of Jesus Christ shall be saved, and all who are saved must live the lifestyle of confession and repentance. For there are millions of souls languishing in the fires of hell who would not confess, who would not turn from their wicked ways.

The church must understand that it must be the very place by which the people within are freely given the opportunity to confess and repent of their sins, without anger, without penitence or without judgment. For renewal to remain with in the church, there must be a free-flowing ministry solely designed to have a place for its people to openly and freely confess and repent their sins. For, whenever confession and repentance is shutdown for whatever reason, one can be assured that the Holy Spirit shall leave the building, and revival and renewal shall quickly come to an end. This is a critical understanding.

We either disqualify ourselves by our willful sin and shame or we disqualify others by our judgments of sin and so put the fires of revival out. Or, we disqualify ourselves through false beliefs. We must understand that when renewal and revival happens within the church, all these things will resolve through the revelations given by the Holy Spirit. We must submit to Him, and let Him lead our meetings. Then suddenly we understand the revelation of God’s forgiveness, of God’s love for us, of God’s desire for intimacy with us. We are made known of our false beliefs, and we confess them and repent of them. We learn, we grow up, we graduate off of the baby’s bottle of milk and begin to eat fresh meat. We begin to eat meat that we’ve never eaten before! And this food wells up to the salvation of the world!

Maintaining Renewal

Maintaining a renewal is actually very easy. All we have to do is to get out of God’s way, and stay out of God’s way. It’s as simple as that. Every revival that I have ever witnessed that has come to an end, it was not God’s desire to bring it to an end. Every revival that is ever come to an end has come to an end because some leader or someone in responsibility chose as an act of his or her will to go in a different direction then what the Holy Spirit was requesting. The quickest way to put the fire of revival out is for man to step in the way of God. And so what was in Pentecost, as the developments of religion and religious thinking took hold. In a matter of 100 years and two to three generations, the manifestations of the Holy Spirit had all but departed from the church.

Religion is based in the mind of man. There is nothing religious about God. There are thousands of religions in the world. They are all false. Every one of them. But there is only one truth. And this truth is found through God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It is a family, it is not a religion. He is our Father. We are his children. This is a family. This is not a religion. Christianity is not a religion it is a family!

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from home every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being. Eph 3:14-16

Religion is antichrist. Religion is like a dull two-sided knife that can cut through nothing. Religion is meaningless. Religion is deadly. Religion is lifeless. Religion is the way of man. Religion has nothing to do with God.

A primary strategy of the devil is this, to cause man to override the direction of God through independence; to reject God’s will for man to be dependent. Independence is born from pride. Independence births conclusions independent of God.

We are called to take on the yoke of Jesus Christ upon our minds. A yoke includes a bit in our mouths and reins of control that are to be given over into the hands of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is supposed to lead us. We are not supposed to lead ourselves. But in most of today’s church, leadership has misunderstood what it is to rightly lead the church. Leaders have taken control of their meetings away from the Holy Spirit. They have taken the reins of control out of the hands of the Holy Spirit into their own hands. This is the beginning of religion.

Fear is the beginning control. Control feeds religion. And religion is the beginning of the end for renewal.

Satan has a primary goal in mind for church leaders. He works to sow fear, division and trouble within the church. When something new happens, and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit occur, all leadership are confronted with a test. This is the design of the Holy Spirit. As leaders, how will we respond when we see someone shaking on the floor as if drunk with alcohol? I ask you, how did Peter respond to this in Acts chapter 2 verse 14-17?

“Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…”

Those who witnessed the manifestations of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost were given a test. The apostle Peter new the right answer. This was God!

How will we respond when we witness manifestations that we do not understand? Satan will always come with the temptation to fear it. Just as it was in the day of Jesus, when Jesus manifested the Holy Spirit’s power through healing and deliverance, He was accused of being a demonic. He was accused through the minds of the witnesses; these witnesses who were the church leaders of their day. The witnesses were being tested. So will we, every time the Spirit manifests in power!

Satan’s house is a house divided, and so he accuses by blaspheming the Holy Spirit. He accuses through the minds of the witnesses “that’s not God, that’s of the devil.” Whose argument shall we bring when these manifestations occur? And what does the Bible say about the one unforgivable sin, which is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

How many times have I witnessed in revival witnesses who question what they are seeing. That is normal! We must understand, we shall all be tested when the Presence of the Holy Spirit manifests in our meetings. The key is in how we respond!

How shall we respond when we see something that we do not understand? The answer is simple. God is the creator of the universe. Satan and his demons are nothing but grains of sand, nothing but an annoyance to God. God, in an instant, can flick away the devil at any point of his choosing. God is great, but Satan is nothing but a created being who must submit to God. Why then do we give Satan so much credit? What are we afraid of in our meetings? If God is in control by the manifesting Presence of the Holy Spirit in our meetings, then who can stand against Him! What are we in fear about? God prepares a table before us in the midst of our enemies! Of whom shall we fear? Fear is only a strategy of the enemy, It is a temptation. If we choose to fear, sin has entered in to our meetings. If we choose to fear, we have just invited Satan into our rooms. If we choose to fear the result most certainly shall be the end of renewal.

If God is in control of our meetings, what do we have to fear? If there is something manifesting within our meetings that is demonic, if we trust in the Holy Spirit’s Presence, then we know that he shall make it known to those who lead with dependence! We then shall have all the authority required to cast such a thing out. It’s easy.

But there shall be times when we are not sure. In those times, we are not to touch it! Greater is He who is in the room than he who is in the world! If we give God control of our meetings, then God will take care of the demonic. We have no idea what is going on in the unseen realms. And so, right leadership is a state of utter and complete dependency. And it must forever be. For, the very moment we begin to move away from this state of dependency, the moment we begin to take the reins of control away from the hands of the Holy Spirit into our own hands, that is the moment in which the beginning of the end of renewal has begun.

And so fear is the temptation that the enemy sows into the minds of leaders, into the minds of all who witness. We must actively come against this manifestation of Satan through humility and dependence upon the Holy Spirit. This is how we maintain renewal in our meetings.

For, the Holy Spirit will not share leadership with anyone, nor should He. Father God is Lord over all. Jesus is the Son of the Father. Jesus does nothing but what the Father tells him to do, and nothing but what the Father tells him to say. The Holy Spirit does nothing but what Jesus tells Him to do or to say. And so the Holy Spirit is perfectly submitted to Jesus, and Jesus is perfectly submitted to the Father. Right order in church is this; that the leadership of the church must be perfectly submitted to the Holy Spirit in trust, faith and obedience. This must be clearly understood. For the very moment that a church leadership chooses to step out of humble submission to the Holy Spirit, this is when the mind of man interferes with the mind of Christ. This is why the enemy comes against church leadership with everything he has to sow fear and control, the primary purpose of which is this, to put the fire of the manifesting Presence of God out!

Once again it comes down to this. God never violates the free will of man. We have a choice. Our life is full of choices. Anytime we choose from a state of independence, we shut out God’s influence in our lives. Whenever we choose from a state of dependence, there is made a way for God to work in our lives.

Renewal is all about dependence. Renewal is all about a hungry people who are starving for the food that God has prepared for us from His bounty! Renewal is all about a thirsty people who long for the waters of the Holy Spirit, and who are thirsty for the New Wine that only God can supply. God is calling us to be transparent about our need, to come together, to be a family, and to seek His Face without fear.

Then comes the Holy Spirit. He pours himself out upon us. Joy fills the room. Godly sorrow fills the repentant heart. The sick are made well. Devils are cast out. Inner wounds and hurts are healed. The Body of Christ is equipped with a anointing. People are utterly changed! And the Kingdom progresses on earth as it is in Heaven!

Renewal is a corporate event. God designed it this way so that when we come together we may all partake of His glorious Presence together. We come together in unity so that we may together receive His Presence, and all that comes with it. We come together so that we may partake in what Jesus died for us to have and then go out and reap a harvest of souls in power! This is what renewal is all about. Like in a bowl, we all come together, He falls in power and hits everyone all at once. What a wonder it is when this joy fills the room and people are utterly changed forever! This is what Jesus died that we might have in full!

Seesaw Politics

In the last two blog posts I’ve made, I have been discussing this concept of balance, as balance pertains to the Kingdom of God. Just now, another American election is complete, and once again we see the effects of “the pendulum” of truth swinging from one side to the other. Over the last few elections, the way of the pendulum has gone to the left. Now, and once again, we’ve seen a swing past the point of truth to the other side of out of balance. Politically speaking, I am not saying which side is correct. What I am saying is that we, as a nation, have been in this decades old process of seesawing to the left and right past the point of what is truly right. What is the deadly motivating factor behind this process? As it has always been in all things spiritual, so it also is in the world, envy and strife.

What’s amazing to me is how narrow minded and “current event minded” our nation can be; cultivated by two very out of line and out of balance entities we call the “right” and the “left”. What so many fail to understand is that rarely what economically occurs during the leadership period of one president is the direct fault of said president’s policies. What one president enacts, in many, if not most cases does not materialize until after his presidency. I don’t blame Bush and I don’t blame Obama. I blame bipartisan hatred that sets in motion a perpetual seesaw effect of instability in our economy and our national reputation. It’s way past time for peer respect, a culture of honor and agreement between parties in order to right and then stabilize our American ship! The instability of America, even our national identity has been greatly damaged for two primary reasons… envy and strife. And where there is envy and strife, there resides every evil work.

The War Against Holy Spirit Presence

Today there has been manifesting many arguments amongst “Spirit filled leaders” that question the need and purpose of the Manifesting Presence of God in times of Revival. These arguments range from outright rejection of the need for the Holy Spirit to be with us in the first place, to forms of judgment against those who seek the Holy Spirit without desiring the call to ministry.

There are so many forms of arguments that the enemy levels to silence the Manifesting Presence of God within the Church. He does this in order to put the fire out at all cost. He uses the cranial thinkers to bring such arguments, those who are not speaking by the Spirit, but by what they presume to think.

Satan knows that if we, the Church, will bite on any of these arguments, that we will place the mind of man over the Mind of Christ, shut out the Holy Spirit either by will or condemnation, resulting in a powerless church.

One of the most serious of arguments I am most concerned about in this hour is the one that says, “The church is more interested in the Presence than in doing the works of the Kingdom.” This argument says that people “come in only for the experience, but stop there.” And there is much truth to this concern. However far greater is the error that lies within this argument! It is to this issue that I write.

Seeking Revival

I am ALL about Revival experience. That is my ministry, that is my call… namely to make a place for people to come in and to experiencing God.

I’ve been in many Revivals. Toronto over 60 times (Not because I was a Revival junkie. Rather, because my piloting job took me there three to five times per month back in the late 90’s, early 2000’s) I went back again and again because I loved the relationship I was gaining in the Father. What I did not know until later was that Father was laying in me destiny. He was dropping “equipping” into me. The anointing that breaks the heavy yoke, and a wisdom that confounds the wise, He was giving me. Most of which would birth at a later date.

Revival, and the seeking of the same, MUST pre prerequisite to all other activities. Why? Only in His Manifesting Presence do we gain truth that overcomes what we think. (Holy Spirit, the Helper who leads us into all truth.) Only in His Manifesting Presence are we even made aware of the call that we have been given. Only in His Manifesting Presence are we given the tools to fight this war that we are in with supernatural success. Only in His Manifesting Presence do we gain the revelation understanding of the Father heart of God who loves us unconditionally, the greatest motivational factor of all that calls me to “do” for Him.

Only in His Manifesting Presence are we made known to the power that heals the sick, cleanses the leapers, casts out demons and raises the dead, and then we are given that power. His Manifesting Presence = Revival.

Without Revival, we are all but dead in the murky stagnant lifeless religious waters of this world. No power, no effectiveness. No power, and we are left only with the minuscule ability of the flesh and cranial mind of man.

Revival must precede anything and permeate everything.

Here is the main point I am trying to make: We can not get our minds right before the Spirit will ever come in power. We need the Spirit to come in power before we will ever get our minds right. Works do not precede relationship. Relationship precedes works. It must, lest all that we do be of our own cranial judgments, lest our efforts be based in works rather than in relationship.

Such an argument that accuses seekers of “laziness” suggests that we need to have a works mindset before we seek Revival. That is to say, we need to have a “do” mindset before we come in and seek Revival. That is the cart before the horse.

Indeed there are many “Presence seekers” who stop short of doing the works we’ve been called to do. But I hear this very same argument time and again amongst today’s “Spirit filled leaders”. It becomes ammunition for the Spiritless on the far left, as well as many who have yet to experience the Presence to say, “We don’t need to seek Revival, we need to go out and do the works!”

It is an argument that pushes the pendulum of truth from out of balance to the left (that says there is no more Holy Spirit as it was in Acts) to out of balance to the right (which says that we are Presence seekers not willing to do the work). You see, both arguments result in the same thing… reduce or eliminate the need to be seekers of the Holy Spirit Presence. These arguments bring a sense of condemnation for making the effort to seek His Face in times of manifesting Revival. Because, we have placed our cranial thinking above that of the Father, we have placed the cart before the horse.

God loves those who seek His Face. And there are plenty of scriptures that make clear that point. But, after the Presence falls, we are left with the decision, and the choice, to get off our comfort seats and get out and do the work. However, God NEVER motivates us to do so out of any position of anger. True, the Presence will never cause us to get up and do the work. God never violates our free will. But that choice should never precede the irreplaceable need for the equipping that makes us able to do so. God loves us into the call.

If we have not gained prior equipping found only in the Presence, the results are works of man that get nothing done. FAR more important it is that people see the invaluable, mandatory and prerequisite need for the Manifesting Presence of the Holy Spirit, than we see the need for any form of Kingdom work. Because no Kingdom work will ever succeed in power without the anointing that comes first, only in times of Revival. We need the Presence first…

Ma 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Ma 6:9-10 Our Father who is in Heaven, hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…

Our first request of Father God is that He would bring His Kingdom to us on earth as it is in Heaven. Our first request is for the Spirit to come in Revival. All other requests follow, all other duties follow. Works of any Kingdom value follow the Presence. Works never precede the Presence.

As for us here in Asia, we have soaking meetings, available for all. I pastor (facilitate) them. We come to a stop and wait on the Presence of the Lord. In almost every one of our meetings, we see some form of physical healing, inner healing or deliverance. It is a magnificent Kingdom work of the “one to One”. Many who attend ARE going out and doing the works within the city. Some walking right into the local brothels and drawing out prostitutes into the truth. Others, ministering in direct demonic deliverance. Still others drawing the faithful to powerful revelation based intercession. Myself, I am ministering directly to local church leadership what it is to regain Revival. And the Spirit is showing up in power.

Why? First and for most… experiential relationship, then a release of the intimate knowledge of the Kingdom of God… then, and only then comes the presentation of the call to works. Thereafter they who receive the blessings of Revival must choose of their own volition to go out and do the call.

To those who say that Revivalists are merely experience seekers, I say this: Faith without experience is a dead faith. I would ask the question, “Are they promoting a works mentality in the reverse? Are they bringing a judgment against the very means by which people are made able to get up and do?” Think it through in the Spirit…

Remember, any part of our thinking that has not been expressly revealed from the Holy Spirit is just that, man’s thinking. Those of us who express Kingdom wisdom must be wholly and totally submitted, “yoked, mind to Spirit” to gain all wisdom and truth, lest we speak from our own minds what we think is the truth on any given Kingdom matter and do damage to all who hear of it.

Is there a way to all truth? Only by the Holy Spirit in times of His Manifesting Presence on earth as it is in Heaven.

For it is, “Not by might, nor by strength, but by My Spirit says the Lord Almighty.” Zech 4:6

Pr 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint…

Ecc 7:15-20 I have seen everything in my days of vanity: There is a just man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who prolongs life in his wickedness. Do not be overly righteous, nor be overly wise: Why should you destroy yourself? Do not be overly wicked, nor be foolish: Why should you die before your time? It is good that you grasp this, and also not remove your hand from the other; for he who fears God will escape them all (all extremes). Wisdom strengthens the wise more than ten rulers of the city. For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.

Where there are no restraints, there are extremes.

Balance as man thinks of balance has no bearing in the Kingdom of God. It is meaningless and foolishness. The church is right to reject moral relativism. But we cannot throw out the baby with the bath water.

In the Kingdom of God, there is one pont of truth to every segment of knowledge. It exists in the Kingdom of God. But here on earth, we have no idea what that point of truth is. We must be revealed to it. This is why Jesus did not leave us as orphans! He died for our salvation and that we would receive the Holy Spirit, the Advocate who leads us into all truth.

Therefore all truth of any value is “up there”. It is NOT here. It then becomes the pathway to wisdom, knowledge and understanding that we gain the Manifest Presence of the Holy Spirit in all that we do on earth. When He comes, we gain God’s perspective on all things. We gain His knowledge and His wisdom.

The wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the Kingdom of God is almost always contrary to the “wisdom, knowledge and understanding of this world”. Thus, the only way to these truths is in submitted and deep humility. Eyes to see and ears to hear are given to us. Our natural eyes and ears can not even comprehend His wisdom, nor can we understand it. Paul understood this clearly:

1 Cor 2: 4-14 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Truth is given, it is not conceived. Truth is revealed, it is not concluded.

With no Holy Spirit to bring the truth, we are as dart throwers in a contest to hit the bull’s-eye of a dartboard blindfolded. We pridefully throw our darts and hit everything but the dartboard, damaging everything we hit. But then comes the Holy Spirit in times of Revival. He lovingly removes our blindfolds, comes along side us, and takes our arm in His. Together, we throw the dart. We hit the dartboard easily and very close to the center point of truth…

In the gaining of Kingdom wisdom, knowledge and understanding, suddenly we all start to think alike! Because One Truth is revealed…

Balance as God sees balance is radical truth revealed, it is the Kingdom of God revealed on earth as it is in Heaven. When we stand on the radical Kingdom point of truth that God has shown us, we are in His balance. It is the right way. And it is the only way, to seek the truths of God by revelation rather than conclusion. It is right to receive of the Holy Spirit the revealed will of God on any given issue; to gain what God thinks on any given matter.

The writer of Ecclesiastes sought wisdom and found little of it in the world. But we have an advantage over this wise man of God. We have the completed work of the cross. We have the promise of the Holy Spirit by whom we gain the mind of Christ and the will of the Father. With much respect, it is much easier for us than it was for him! Now, we all have direct access to the inner-court depths of God’s deep deep heart.

Coming to the end of ourselves opens the door to all things of the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven. Humility and brokenness leads to a reaching outside of ourselves. Humility leads to thankfullness, thankfullness to intimacy and then intimacy to understanding. This, forever, is the process by which we gain understanding! In this entire process resides the manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

For the church to be operating in truth as God defines truth, knowledge as God defines knowledge, and wisdom as God defines wisdom, we MUST be filled with the Holy Spirit!

I have seen how the enemy of God works so hard to keep the church in a place of extremes. In most cases the problem is an out of balance to the left in which we live in a state of sin. However, in the other case, we find ourselves in a place of out of balance to the right in which we are legalistic against every little thing.

Eccl 7:16-18 Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise — why destroy yourself? Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool — why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes.

I have seen a vision of a floor standing “granfather clock”. With a long pendulum arm swinging back and forth. I focus on the pendulum and see it swing to the far right and then to the far left and then back and forth unending. Imagine that God’s point of truth in any matter exists at the very centerpoint of the swing of this pendulum. Now then we can see that there is a left of truth and a right of truth on any given subject.

Let’s use the concept of “Grace” for a moment.

One side of the argument says that grace covers all sins so that we can go on sinning without cost. It says that our sins have been covered in the blood if we have accepted Christ in our hearts. Thus, and here is the error, we can go on sinning without concequence and still attain Heaven. Out of balance to the left…

The other side of the argument says that we are all going to hell who continue to sin. There is no recoevery for those who accept Christ who have continued in sin. God is an angry God, full of wrath, just wainting to throw you into the pits of hell for your imperfections. Therefore you can only reley on good works that might change His mind. Out of balance to the right…

Do you see the two sides of out of balance? Only by the Holy Spirit can we ever gain the “point of truth” on the subject of Grace! Grace is lovingly unmerrited mercy filled Cross born power to overcome! Notice that the word “grace” appears only a couple times in the Old Testement, yet over 100 times in the New Testement. Grace is a concept brought to fruition at The Cross. The very purpose of the Cross was unmerited mercy!

No discussion of sin should ever be spoken of from any pulpit but from a voice of humility. No discussion of sin should ever be spoken of without expressing both the myserable wrath-filled cost of it, nor the mercy and grace of Christ Cross that overcomes it. No discussion of sin should ever be spoken of without the expression of the truth that mercy triumphs over judgment. Neither should there ever be a discussion of sin without an expression of the way out, made available to all (regenerated or not) by way of the lifestyle of repentance. This is God’s point of truth on this matter.

Satan is a master at minipulating the pendulum arm of truth left and/or right of the centerpoint of God’s truth. Whenever we gain the Holy Spirit in times of His manifesting Presence, satan knows that the church is about to be revealed to truth as God sees truth! And so, he goes to all he has right to in attendance, by way of an unsubmitted mind, and brings arguments against what people are newly perceiving. He is a master at pushing the pendulum arm to the left or to the right!

He comes right in to our minds, bringing “the leaven of falsity” which is the lie. Satan knows that if he can gain ground by falsifying what is being revealed, that he will render the church in something/anything lesser and lower than what Father wants! This is always his goal as to the expression of the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven. And we need to know it.

We incline ourselves to the Kingdom of God, in which are found all the riches of wisdom and knowledge. None is found on earth. This is what the writer of Ecclesiastes was getting at when he said, over and over again, “meaningless, meaningless, meaningless!” Meaningless are the things and the ways of this world, and everything that is in it!

We are not saying here that it is right to live with sin while living in righteousness. The concept of “yin-yang”, in which good does and should exist with evil, is the way of the world. Moral relativeism is not what we are speaking of here.

Nor am I bringing a message of balance as the world defines balance. “A little of this, plus a little of that, right in the middle we compromise… that is the point of truth in whatever way we choose truth to be”. Such is the balance of the world, and which has no bearing in the Kingdom of God. What we are saying is that God sets a point of truth in all things. Only by the Holy Spirit do we find and then live within that very point of being.

The progression of error is like this: When we find we are in error, we know that a change is necessary. So, we start to move in the change by making a turn… turning away from the error towards the right way. Without the Holy Spirit resident, the devil steps in to keep us going past the point of truth and once again away from God’s will, towards the other side of the out of balance. We find ourselves in another extreme. This cycle causes us to remain ineffective for God’s purpose, if for any other reason than we are out of God’s radical truth.

If we are living in the flesh we can only guess at what God’s point of truth might be. We hope to live close to His will but we can never know for sure. We are living in a state of “logos”. This is why it is said in Scripture that the Holy Spirit is the Counselor who leads us into all truth. We must be so lead of the Holy Spirit. When we do so, we find unity of the Body. We all start thinking alike. We all begin to see God’s point of truth in all things. We agree. We live in the radical of the Spirit… not in the extreme of the flesh.

The main point is this. Abide in the Presence of God. And if the Presence is not in residence with you, stop everything, humble yourself, and wait upon Him. In such ways, we will know what is right. In such a way, we go out… we find fruitfulness.

It comes down to this. We must give our reigns of control over into the hands of the Father, humble ourselves, and wait upon His Holy Spirit to come in times of intimacy with the Father. Then we will know.

Isa 30:18-21 Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry (your humility); when He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

Lightning and Thunder

Jer 51:16 When He utters His voice—
There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
“He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightnings for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

As an airline pilot, I am intimately familiar with the design of a thunderstorm. A thunderstorm builds as hot air rises. As the storm develops, the hot air begins to interact with colder air at high altitudes. What goes up, must come down! Hot air rises, cold air falls. As the colder air above chills the hot air, the cold air then descends. Columns of hot rising air begin to interact with cold air columns that descend. In time, the friction of these columns of rising and falling air masses charge the air with electricity. Lightning follows. Lightning then produces thunder because of the extreme heat of lightning coupled with the speed of its movement.

Lightning strikes in one spot, but it’s blinding light and thunder are seen and heard for miles around.

And while in flight we avoid them with all haste, there is a spiritual meaning to the winds and the rains.

The rising air is like our praises and intercessions and the seeking of His Face. While the falling air is like what the Father brings into the church by His Presence. This is the ongoing process of ascending and descending.

Then the rains fall… and the winds blow… then, lightning strikes… and thunder follows. And when the lightning strikes, this is like the Holy Spirit coming in power!

There is what seems to be chaos during a thunderstorm; heavy winds, heavy rains, and then a shift! The winds herald the coming revelation, the grounds get watered with His truth. Then manifests His energy as the storm gives way to a change. Unstable air gives way to stable air. Chaos gives way to purpose. Religion gives way to intimacy and truth!

Lightning is like the power of the Holy Spirit manifesting instantly. Thunder becomes the testimony of it that follows.

He is the Lightning…. We are His Thunder…

We need to be willing to be shifted violently out of dead and lifeless religion! That’s what happens when the Spirit shows up. That which was gives way to the new thing. Our air becomes shifted, our grounds get watered, and we thunder His testimony out into a dying world!

Job 36:26-33 “Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him; nor can the number of His years be discovered. For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down
and pour abundantly on man. Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, the thunder from His canopy? Look, He scatters His light upon it,
and covers the depths of the sea. For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance. He covers His hands with lightning, and commands it to strike. His thunder declares it…
